Annual Fund
Each year Literacy Volunteers relies on the generosity of our individual friends and supporters in the community to make tax deductible contributions on behalf of the Annual Fund. Unrestricted gifts to the Annual Fund are used to cover the actual cost of educating students and families in our programs, recruiting, training and supporting our volunteers, purchasing the needed instructional materials and collaborating with other agencies to ensure that our community’s most vulnerable residents have access to education and job training. Your support is deeply appreciated and makes a profound difference in the lives of our students and to future generations.

Your gift will be recognized under the following gift categories:
Friend (up to $99)
Supporter ($100 - $249)
Sponsor ($250 - $499)
Pacesetter ($500 - $999)
Partner ($1,000 - $2,499)
Leader ($2,500 - $4,999)
Patron ($5,000 - $9,999)

Planned Gifts
As one of the many ways to support Literacy Volunteers, planned giving provides the agency with future income while providing economic benefits to your estate plan:
- Increased income
- Provision for loved ones
- Tax benefits
- Preservation of assets

Trusts
If you are interested in making a gift to Literacy Volunteers but do not wish to give up all the benefits of specific assets, you might consider creating a Charitable Remainder Trust. You place the assets in a trust that will ultimately benefit the agency. In the meantime, a fixed percent of the trust is paid annually to you, a family member or other beneficiary. The income can be paid for life or a certain number of years, at the end of which the assets pass to LVSG. By establishing the trust, you may receive income, gift or estate benefits.

Assets placed in a Charitable Lead Trust will benefit LVSG for a period of years designated by you. At the termination of the trust, the principal is transferred to your children or grandchildren. You obtain an immediate income tax deduction (particularly useful in an unusually high income year) and can effectively pass the property to your children or grandchildren at significant gift or estate tax savings.

Bequests
Many donors decide to remember Literacy Volunteers in their wills. To make a bequest to LVSG, contact your attorney. A provision to remember LVSG can be added as simply as "I give and bequeath to Literacy Volunteers – Stamford/Greenwich, Inc. ____ percent of my total estate (or $_____, or other property)."
