WIRED (Workforce Innovations in Regional Economic Development
CT-NY Talent for Growth is one of 39 WIRED regions in the country. WIRED is an initiative of the United States Department of Labor to address the challenges of global competition by preparing America's workforce for high-skilled, high-wage job opportunities. LVSG in collaboration with FSW, Bridgeport, Carver Center, Port Chester, NY, and Family Centers, Stamford, provides job training for older youth ages 16 - 24 and prepares them for employment in informational technology and retail services. Upon completion, students have the opportunity to obtain professional certification in both of these industries.

Financial Literacy � (SMART with MONEY) (
Funded by First County Bank, CitiGroup and UBS, SMART with Money provides financial literacy education to low to moderate income adults. The program helps students gain the knowledge they need to make informed financial decisions, avoid the pitfalls of predatory lenders and achieve economic independence.

EL Civics Project LIFTT (Literacy Involvement for Today and Tomorrow)
Funded by CT State Department of Education, the program incorporates English language learning within the study of United States history and government, community resources, naturalization procedures and vital delivery systems including health care and public education.

Project CAFÉ (Computers are for Everyone)
Thanks to IBM�s generous donation of new computers and software, LVSG is able to teach students basic computer applications and Internet usage to study US history, learn about the naturalization process, practice workplace skills and conduct job searches.

Bridges to Success
The program prepares advanced students for success in post-secondary education and job training program. Students prepare career and education development plans, create resumes, practice interview techniques and apply for jobs and internships.
