Registration for classes takes place three times per year:
September, January and March.


Students

Class Schedule
Classes meet two times per week for two hours each session.
Morning classes meet Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday
    from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m. or from 10:00 a.m. - 12 noon.
Evening classes meet Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m.
As a student you can also enroll in an enrichment class such as writing, financial
   literacy and history.


Computer Lab
As long as you are an enrolled student at Literacy Volunteers you can use the computer lab to practice your reading, writing and English conversation. You can also learn skills that you can use in the workplace such as word processing and email.

The Computer Lab is available at the following days and times:
      Tuesday and Thursday: 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.


About Our Classes
Classes are small, generally 5 to 15 students in a group
Students are placed according to their speaking and/or reading ability as assessed
    on the CASAS standardized test.
All classes are taught by trained volunteer tutors.
Classes follow a standard, evidenced-based curriculum, which incorporates real-life
    competencies along with instruction in reading, writing, listening and speaking.
